Preparation of front handles for BR132/232 H0 (1:87)

Modeling of front handles of the future model of the BDZ 07 serie locomotive

Part One

For the purpose the model of diesel locomovite Brawa BR 132/232 is used.

Tools needed - mini drill, caliper, string guitar with a thickness of 0.5 mm (third string), chisel, tweezers, moment glue, etc. .

Firstly it is necessary to remove the factory handles models which are unsuitable forconversion of the machine in Bulgarian locomotive. The important thing is to be dismantled old handles that can be released from their employment openings whichare located at the top of the basket (a total number of 7).
Once the original handles are removed, move on to making and placing the new, conventionally called me "bg handles." For the record the wall thickness of the bodyof the model is about 1.5 mm. So I cut small pieces of string with an approximatelength of at least 3 mm, with the aid of forceps carefully place in the liberated holeson the forehead of the model. Important - the first two holes located at the bottom leftunfilled! This string set pieces are glued to the basket using glue (glue must beapplied inside the basket) until you get this:

After waiting some time to dry the adhesive well, proceed to gently grinding withpieces of drill string until you get this:

Pieces of string to be displayed in the basket at a distance not more than 1 mm.

We are ready for the next stage of modeling - making a top handle and placing the model.

Part Two

Tools needed - string guitar with a thickness of 0,5 mm (third string), chisel, pliers with curved beaks, dental putty-knife thin permanent marker.

Unfortunately, this second part is so important that the variation in work, even part of a millimeter, resulting in binding false start of the exercise.

Important! The handle should accurately describe the imaginary line in the form of P (bulgarian letter П) outlined the complex and secured firmly in Part One small parts of string on model's basket :

First step - to do with the first curved pliers bend the string, which will eventually servethe finished handle to wedge into the basket of the model (left empty the two holes (those over the white line) at the bottom of the model face) :

Second step, particularly important second curve, the second part of the P-th handle.Using the marker should carefully observe the eye where to fold the string and thengently with curved forceps twist. It is very difficult! Do not give up if the fifth attempt did not happen. In there with mastering the techniques will be the first time. But nothappen - patient in. .. until you get this:

Oval is made thereafter. It used to be able to better handle fits into the oval shape of the front basket. Beware! Should be handled carefully because steel wire preventsmany times to be bent.

Third step, even more important than the previous third curve of future maintenance. To shape the handle and the third part of P like this:

Well, it worked! . It should make the last bend, and serving the other end of the P-thhandle to wedge firmly into the basket of a locomotive like this:

Cut the excess part of the wire and here ready now handle:

And the engine itself without fine adjustment is made:

Normally, the handle is curved, because all it ever fit the eye and is in the order of things be deviations but not fatal. The next stage will prove it.

Part Three:

Required tools - dental putty-knife, thin permanent marker, instant moment glue, mini drill.

First step: using a permanent marker mark on the top handle places where it will rest against the small pieces of string attached to the forehead of the model:

Second step: using a mini drill carefully filing the inside of the front handle alreadymarked places of contact of the front handle with a fixed small pieces of string:

Third step: on the spatula is smeared a little quantity moment glue that is appliedcarefully on each mini piece of string, fixed on the forehead of the model. Then insertthe handle is pressed against the string pieces, making sure that small tubules (seestep two!) On the handle to fit the pieces with mini string. It is held as the glue does not tighten. Then again, carefully applied with a spatula new amount of glue on the contact surface between the handle and mini pieces of string. Allow to dry. Finally you get this:

Step Four: With moment glue coated on the inside parts of the handle coming in basket:

Note:
First, in this case made a mistake by not noted outset, therefore not cut out too longstalk fragments entering the basket. In principle, the same can not be sticking out of the basket because it will interfere with docking of components inside of the cab. It was further carefully will drill file so that the string does not stop appearing from the basket.
Second warning for careful work goes for me - top handle is slightly curved on oneside. The risks of work "by eye". However, I am calm! The detail is very small and after the final painting, not even noticeable curvature.

The above operation is applied and the other face of the model!

Good luck to dare to try this method!
